March-2005 Attended the Science and Technology Conference for Economic Transformation of Uganda at the Hotel Africana Kampala Uganda 19th March 2005 2004- Attended Open Day for researchers, students, business community and stakeholders of novel techniques of controlled crop production in the UK held at the University of Reading. I was a major discussant of recent developments in plastic technology in agriculture and horticultural industries.
2004- Major organizer and exhibitor on behalf of the University of Reading at the Chelsea 2004 Flower show in Chelsea London. The show is International and I exhibited on behalf of the University of Reading. This involved answering questions and providing advises to participants and other exhibitors regarding recent plant science research at Reading University and other countries of Europe such as Spain, France and Portugal.
2004- I Attended the Scottish Crop Research Society Forum in Dundee, Scotland. I was asked to give a talk on the potential to trial newly bred cultivars of perennial crops, particularly fruit plants in relation to new greenhouse cover materials, restricted use of herbicides and pesticides and chemical plant regulators.
2003- Presented preliminary results of a trial conducted on the effects of different films on yield, flower initiation and vegetative growth of strawberries to 100 UK based growers. Collaboration in the trial included the University of Reading, Haygrove Tunnels (UK Ltd) and BPI Agri (Plastic film Manufacturers) (HDC News 2003).
2002- Field trip (2 weeks) in Andalucia (Southern Spain) for skills and training in modernization of the horticultural and perennial plants production based on irrigation systems, landscape management and regeneration of herbs, shrubs and other plants in over used agricultural and industry land.
2002- Attended soft fruit conference in Kent, United Kingdom organized by FAST (Farm Advisory Services Team Limited). Data from my PhD Experiments was presented at the conference by Karen Shrives (FAST Consultant).
2001- Research Group seminars- discussing recent developments in the scientific research for different horticultural crops (physiology, molecular biology, etc) in the United Kingdom
2000- Soft Fruit Technology Group Open Day- Presented a talk on the potential of controlled environments for fruit production in the Midlands, United Kingdom.
